America's cup is reborn
Referred to as the 'Super J' since her defence of
the America's Cup against Endeavour ll, Ranger has
now been launched at the Danish Yachts shipyard in
Skagen, Denmark. Danish Yachts is part of the Royal
Denship Consortium of shipyards located throughout
Denmark. Their current projects include yachts in
Composite, Steel, Steel and aluminum, and in the
case of Ranger a composite of High tensile and grade
A steel.
The Ranger project has been in development since its
conception in September 1999 and it's team of
designers, naval architects and industry specialists
has designed a yacht that recreates the look and
feel of the existing J class yachts Shamrock,
Endeavour and Velsheda.
Ranger has been built to Lloyds Classification , the
MCA code of practice for the safety of large
commercial yachts and the J Class Association Rules.
Ranger will be used to cruise in company with the
Owners current yacht, Georgia, and to attend J Class
and Classic Yacht Regattas around the World.
