HISTORY

1952 GOS V was built as whale catcher by Pusnes mek. Verksted, Arendal (hull no.82) and completed by Kaldnes mek. Verksted, Tønsberg for A/S Hvalfangerselskapet Pelagos (Svend Foyn Bruun), Tønsberg. Price when delivered NOK 3.7 M. Catching for Fl/F PELAGOS all seasons from 1952/53 to the end of 1961/62 season.
1962 In April, sold to Collins Submaine Pipelines Africa (Pty) Ltd, South Africa and delivered her new owners when homeward bound from the Antarctic after her last whaling season. Converted in South Africa for subsea construction purposes, renamed AUNTIE LIL
1966 Sold to Veld Waterboer Mij (Eiendoms) Bpk., Cape Town. Name unchanged.
Re-sold to Marine Diamond Corp. Ltd., Cape Town. Name unchanged. Used as a tender for the large mining barge SEVENTY-SEVEN in a subsea diamond mining project on an area between Walvis Bay and Orange River (SWA/Namibia).
1973 Sold to Auntie Lil (Pty) Ltd., Walvis Bay, SWA (Namibia) but registered in Cape Town S.A.
Laid up in Saldanha Bay in the mid-70’ies.
1976 Broken up in South Africa.
